ANDREW COLQUHOUN
As a mentor, Andrew Colquhoun draws on 15 years experience as chief executive first at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and then with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Earlier, he spent 10 years working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Cabinet Office in London and the Middle East.
During this time, Andrew also volunteered with The Samaritans, which inspired him to follow a new path. Andrew now holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Counselling and deploys his counselling skills in his Mentoring work. He is currently serving in a voluntary capacity with several counselling agencies in Sussex and Kent. Andrew also has an MBA degree from the City University Business School, which he draws on in mentoring work to adopt a strategic approach to clientsÕ issues, where appropriate.
Also in a voluntary capacity, Andrew has been working as a mentor with head teachers in London through Business in the Community since 1999. While at the RHS, he set up a Mentoring programme by RHS staff for Year 11 students at a South London comprehensive. Andrew has also been a mentor for MBA students at CASS Business School, and he is currently fulfilling non-executive roles with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Natural Environment Research Council, and the South East England Development Agency.
