FIONA LIVINGSTONE

Fiona came to Yoga from a Pilates background (she practised Pilates for 8 years).  After moving from London, Fiona was introduced to Yoga classes with Gary Carter at Natural Bodies in Brighton, where the teaching was inspired by Vanda Scaravelli

She found this type of Yoga was remarkably different, with its effects more profound in many ways.  There was no need to push the body into ambitious poses – ‘If you are kind to your body, it will respond in an incredible way,’ Vanda Scaravelli believed.  Fiona found the transformations to be radical.  She came to realise that Yoga is a way of life, and discovered a new-found flexibility, which changed her perspective completely.  Consequently she went on to complete a teacher training course with celebrated teachers John Stirk and Sophy Hoare, in London, who she still works with on a regular basis.  She has now been teaching for 5 years.

Fiona offers a Monday morning 8 a.m. class at 44 Wellington Square.

What Fiona Livingstone did for me...
‘Fiona’s style of teaching is flexible yet challenging and her perseverence, encouragement and enthusiasm have succeeded in improving posture, loosening the most intransigent joints and strengthening muscles that we forgot we still had.  Books and videos can give you an idea as to what to do and how to do it, but it is all too easy for the mind to wander and the concentration to slip.  With Fiona’s hands-on support and correction, the effort is much more satisfying and the results are much more worthwhile.’  JS, Fiona Livingstone client
