HELEN GRANT
Helen has an honours degree in Sociology, a diploma in Social Work and a Masters degree from the University of Sussex. Before the birth of her children, she worked for many years as a social worker in a variety of settings, with a special interest and much experience of working in Mental Health - and also as a medical social worker both in hospital and the community. She is used to working as part of multi disciplinary teams and has always had a great interest in health and health provision.
Having decided to retrain before returning to work, Helen chose Hypnotherapy as it had always fascinated her and it seemed to resonate with her previous training and experience, allowing her to remain working with clients in a positive and empowering way, to bring about personal change. She has undertaken a thorough training in Hypno-Psychotherapy, with comprehensive coverage of hypnotherapeutic techniques integrated with a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches.
Helen trained at The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, and is a member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists
Although she practices clinical Hypnotherapy, Helen adopts an eclectic style with clients and is able to draw on a variety of techniques appropriate to the client’s particular situation and requirements. She also has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and uses many CBT techniques. She has a personal interest in working with stress and anxiety related problems but has used hypno-psychotherapy to achieve positive and lasting results with many other issues including habit cessation, stress related disorders, personal crises, unhealthy eating and many other conditions.
Helen is available for Hypnotherapy and Quit Smoking - Break The Smoking Habit For Life at The Wellington Square Natural Health Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m and on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 8 p.m.
