ROMANA BALLE

Romana completed her Yoga Alliance 200 teacher training with Teach Yoga in London, after studying with Duncan Hulin at the Devon School of Yoga.  Her personal experience is that through regular practice, she became much stronger - both mentally and physically - and has been able to create better balance in her life.

Says Romana:  ‘I believe that there is no “right” way to practice yoga so I approach my yoga practice in a holistic and eclectic way, drawing on from wide range of styles and taking inspiration from various national and international teachers.  My classes are fusion of body awakening, traditional poses hold for several minutes and short Vinyasa sequences followed by relaxation/meditation.  Attention is given to correct alignment and breath awareness to bring about mental clarity, steadiness and concentration and to provide the opportunity for deep engagement within the postures.

Yoga is not about quantity and ability to perform the most advance poses, but about the quality one puts in it.  This is why I encourage my students to pay attention to their own bodies, inner perception and to work within their own abilities, accepting their own rate of progress as well as to practice from heart, with joyfulness.’

Romana is also a qualified massage therapist and  a nurse and has an interest in therapeutic aspects of yoga, with a particular focus on women’s health.
