REBECCA GOULD
Rebecca has been practising Pilates since the age of 15, with Helga Fisher and Paul Mclinden. She continued to take regular classes while doing her degree and training at London Contemporary Dance School. On graduating she started the Pilates Foundation teacher training in London at The Place, with Master Teachers Hana Jones, Susanne Lahusen and Sonia Noonan, as well as working as a dancer in a professional dance company. As a dancer Rebecca believes that Pilates has been invaluable to her progression and injury prevention.
As a qualified Pilates Foundation teacher since 2006 Rebecca has taught Pilates full time. She teaches around London and East Sussex, and now at Wellington Square. Her work includes groups classes for all ages and abilities - from groups of teenagers in schools, to adapted chair classes for those with limited movement. Privately she has also worked with musicians, dancers and clients with specific back and neck issues.
Rebecca says: ‘ I do not approach Pilates as just a set of exercises. I see and use it as a platform to build exercises around the individual needs. Each body and person is unique and Pilates helps them to find their own ideal posture, body shape, and fitness, bringing balance to the body allowing to work to its optimal efficiency’.
