Yuko Nakamura

Yuko Nakamura was born in 1962 in Yamaguchi, Japan.  Originally, she trained and studied to become an architect.  Her interest in Oriental Medicine was sparked at the age of 21.  Yuko had started to learn Aikido, one of the Japanese martial arts, but after three years of hard training became ill and sought medical help.

She discovered that Western medicine was of very limited help and out of desperation, Yuko started to explore natural and complementary medicine.  Finally, she recovered full health through a combination of Acupuncture and Shiatsu massage;  her personal experience of the power of these treatments inspired her to study them.  Yuko qualified in 1991 after studying at Daigakuden, Hachiogi, Tokyo.

In the same year she moved to the UK, and joined the Alexander Technique School, having become passionate about this form of postural therapy, and qualified in 1994.  Meanwhile, Yuko continued her Acupuncture studies, graduating from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture in 2001.

Through Japanese Acupuncture, Yuko treats all-round problems including any kind of aches and pains, digestive system disorders, circulation or heart problems, respiratory problems, genito-urinary problems and hormonal disorders.  Her special interests are infertility (male and female) and palliative care.

Yuko also teaches the Alexander Technique to ordinary people and especially to musicians, dancers, singers and actors etc.
